{Wed. II.Vi.Xiii Marked the 4th annual Essence Black Women in Music event. Honored were the beautiful Solange Knowles and Lianne La Havas.

- With her most recent and successful album to date being Sol-Angel & the Hadley St. Dreams in 2008, Solange finally supplied the long anticipated demand and released her latest album, Truth. With her continued unique 80’s inspired sound, Truth, is said to be more personal considering her more artistic freedom with her new record label, Terrible Records. She took it upon herself to stay true to her craft and create “REAL” music for her fans.

- Lianna La Havas is an English soul and folk singer. This lovely songstress is also a multi instrumentalist playing both the piano and guitar. She bravely discontinued school to pursue her music career full time. After two years of developing her skills as a song writer she was signs to Warner Bro.s records releasing her latest album ‘Is Tour Love Big Enough’ which won Itunes album of the year!
